The House - People experiencing homelessness seeking recovery in their substance use and mental health
Harm Reduction is a philosophy that addresses the disparities existing in our world rather than believing people all have the same opportunities and just need to work harder. Harm reduction also describes services that meet people who use drugs where they are at to provide life saving supplies, without the need to change them. For HHCRC Harm Reduction is mindset that honors the worth, dignity, and abilities of people who use drugs to identify their own goals and discover their unique path of recovery to stability and thriving.
Since this program is free to residents, donations/grants are used for supplies for groups, materials for trainings, minimal office supplies for operations, and salary for admin staff working hard to secure The Heart House property and funding. Once the house is open they will also be used for the house itself, supplies/food for folks living there, transportation/access to care outside of our facility, pay for staffing 24/7, and basic organizational operations. As a 501(c)3 all tax information is public.
