Heart House Comprehensive Recovery Community is a 501(c)(3) organization in Western North Carolina providing peer support groups 3 times a week for people experiencing homelessness and substance use disorder, as well as trainings for institutions or organizations that frequently interact with these folks on how to more effectively support them in achieving positive change. HHCRC is preparing to open The Heart House, a substance use Respite house for people experiencing homelessness seeking recovery, stability, and connection to long term solutions.

Our Mission

Collaborating with individuals experiencing homelessness and substance use disorder in a non-conventional outpatient setting run by people with shared experience, to explore their unique path to recovery by providing education, support groups, opportunities, and resources with no financial barriers. Providing education on the full spectrum of recovery to established service providers in order to foster better relationships in our community, improve behavioral health outcomes, and fill the fatal gap between for profit recovery and crisis response services or incarceration.

Our Vision

Heart House CRC is striving to become a deeply connected community of individuals who once felt that they did not belong and had no purpose, finding belonging, purpose, and healing through showing up for themselves and one another authentically. Our vision is to be able to provide respite from homelessness in the form of a transitional living house for folks to gain stability, individualized support, and community around the clock to prepare themselves for long-term recovery and independent living.

HHCRC is looking for our future home. Our future location will be a residential property in Buncombe County, with 5 or more bedrooms and plenty of shared living space. We are currently pursuing funding to rent, or ideally purchase, this home and welcome our community to reach out with any properties or opportunities.
